Orbital Temple
— Connect With Heaven
Orbital Temple is an art project that questions the symbolic colonization of paradise by giving you the power to send the name of a loved one to a radical inclusive "heaven". Backed by Open Society and NASA, the creative agency Rise New York & Partners and the artist Edson Pavoni collaborated to Launch a radical inclusive temple in the sky.
If there's such thing as heaven — whose heaven is it?
Who belongs in it? And most importantly — who decides? We open that discussion and keep the lines open to everyone who wants to chime in.
Orbital Temple creates the possibility of sending the name of someone who has passed away to heaven through technology
The satellite was specially designed to have the capacity to store billions of names. When visiting the website, available in more than 50 languages, it is possible to fill out a free form that only asks for the visitor's email address and the person's name who will be sent to heaven.
Connecting with Heaven
The antenna sends the name and the satellite stores it in memory. The satellite responds with a message confirming that the transmission was successful and certifying that the names sent are inscribed and registered in its memory.
Every day, hundreds of people will ascend to the sky. But the sky is never the same for everyone
The first visual identity that evolves according to real-time orbital map visualizations.
